In-Market Judge – Amelia Lim

Amelia Lim brings 20 years of multi-industry experience and a strong track record in FinTech, consumer entertainment and lifestyle marketing in Singapore and Malaysia. Her strengths include developing and growing start-ups through B2B and B2C PR, strategic branding communications and lead generation through various marketing channels.

She has worked with clients across multiple industries, in energy, F&B, financial services, FMCG, healthcare and lifestyle and for the past 3 years, in Fintech.

With a strong foundation across platforms, her key competencies lie in her ability to understand a brand from a different perspective and provide that extra creative push in campaigns through organic and paid media.

After 23 years in Singapore, Amelia returned to Malaysia in 2011 and joined a local PR firm where her experience helped to launch and build profiles for Malaysian and MNC brands, among them Hansgrohe, LQP Asia (protective nanotechnology for mobiles), MAXMAN.TV (Malaysia’s first IPTV channel) and Toshiba’s first cinematic laptop.

Her portfolio of past and present clients includes brands such as Harrods Café, The Butter Factory Singapore, Waste 2 Energy, Nikon, Philips, IZIMedia Group (MAXMAN.TV), Toshiba Singapore, LQP Asia, Business Media International, Merck, Sharpe & Dome, Singapore Exhibition Services, Hansgrohe, SR Technics, Moet Hennessy Diageo, Remy Martin & the Fintech Association of Malaysia.

Over her career, Amelia has build a strong network of lifestyle and technology media in Malaysia and Singapore, resulting in significant story outcomes for her clients which enabled her to start her own PR Agency. Perseid Consultancy was acquired after 2 years of operation.

Amelia was also GoBear Malaysia’s Head of Marketing. Pivotal in setting up the business, she launched Malaysia’s first and unbiased meta-search engine for financial products, Gobear.com in May 2016 before taking on the portfolio as its Regional Marketing Head for 6 APAC countries. Currently, the Head of Brand & Communications in TNG Digital, (a JV company between Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd & Alibaba’s Ant Financial), she develops and directs the strategic messaging that ties all aspects of Brand, Comms & PR, consumer and commercial acquisitions for The Touch ‘n Go eWallet.

As a strong supporter for FinTech industry, Amelia is an elected committee member of the FinTech Association of Malaysia. As a strong supporter for green and sustainable industries, Amelia is the co-founder of the highly successful CleanTech Happy Hour advocacy and business networking group in 2007. As Convenor, she organises regional networking meet-ups for members to explore opportunities.

She also champions animal welfare, Amelia co-founded PAWS UP! In 2016, a social enterprise aimed at the betterment of the lives of shelter animals through education, volunteerism and fundraising. It also lobbies the nationwide need of compulsory microchipping.

Amelia earned a Diploma in Mass Communications from Oklahoma City University. She is fluent in English and Malay, and is proficient in spoken Mandarin and also made it to the list of 2017 Malaysia Golden Globe Tigers list of 30 Women Achievers & Leaders.
